Aromaleigh used to have a Before & After gallery on the website, showing how the mineral makeup evens out skin tone while still giving a natural skin look. I'd love to get that gallery started up again, and will soon be starting up the $25 gift code for those whose gallery submissions are accepted (more details on this in the near future).
So, I figured I'd break out of my comfort zone and go first. I solidly embody the average woman with a minimal, natural look beauty routine. I feel uncomfortable wearing a lot of makeup, so I've always held fast to a basic foundation - simple eyeshadow - mascara - brow pencil - lipstick routine.
Today I'm feeling vulnerable by sharing this, as let's face it- I'm sharing a photo of myself at my worst, with no makeup and my red, 50 year old face! Bring on the unfollows! But I realize that it's my responsibility to get the ball rolling, right?
I'll be 51 in two months and I deal with redness and uneven skin tone and some hormonal and lingering "maskne". My skin is generally normal - not too dry, not to oily. I have some fine lines around my eyes and forehead and in between my brows. I'm religious about wearing a big floppy brimmed hat every single day when I'm outdoors.
My routine is simple. I've been using Olay Regenerist (unscented) serum for over a decade, as a base for my mineral makeup. I let it soak in for a few minutes, then I tap a little bit of powder into my dish, swirl my brush into it and then buff it into my skin. I use Gossamer 2YL in the summer and Dewdrop 2YL in the winter. I finish off with a few spritzes of toner, to meld the foundation with my skin and get rid of any powdery look.
